This paper analyzes the transition of university students from academic training to their entry into the workforce. It presents a theoretical framework that addresses the definition and relevance of engineering, learning theories applied to teaching, and the connection between theory and practice, highlighting the use of project-based learning, active learning, and Kolb's theory as fundamental axes. The study focuses on the experience generated through the interaction of academic bodies UANL-CA-275 and UANL-CA-431 and the experience of the colloquiums organized by the Institutional and Outreach Projects program, in which students and teachers share their experiences in the workplace according to their specialties. The conclusion of these events has proven to be an effective means of strengthening technical competencies and soft skills, promoting early employability. Likewise, it justifies the importance of documenting and disseminating success stories as a strategy to improve the relevance of academic programs and consolidate the link between university and industry.
