Abstract

Gardner (1995) mentioned that there is no general and total intelligence, but that multiple intelligences coexist as a set of capabilities that allow a person to solve problems or form products that are important in their life. Having the information of the multiple intelligences of the higher level students will support the tutor in order to develop a diagnosis that allows him to apply strategies and institutional actions that contribute to the student finalize the degree and achieve comprehensive training. The emotional intelligence of 59 students of the third semester of Surgeon in the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Campeche (U.A.C.) was analyzed. The Study Method followed a quantitative-descriptive approach and the instrument applied was the Weisinger test (2001). The most relevant results were observed in the comparison by gender, with men presenting the highest averages in the different fields of the test. By fields of intelligence, the significant difference was observed in Control of emotions, Relating well and Emotional advice. Under that context, it is highly recommended that courses and workshops be given to some and tutors, aimed at fostering their skills for better Emotional Intelligence.
