The general objective of this study is to determine the areas of opportunity in the training of the professors who teach the learning unit (UA), referring to the epistemology of Communication in the academic program of the Degree in Communication Sciences and whose premise considers: The lack of epistemological content of the communication sciences contribute to a deficient academic formation in the undergraduate students of the same nomenclature. It is a study that is carried out under the scientific method in its quantitative-qualitative modality, it is a study with a descriptive scope, whose methodological design corresponds to an intrinsic case study, it is a non-experimental descriptive transectional investigation. The techniques of data collection were the review of institutional documents, printed and electronic sources that provided information to the project, as well as an instrument of own design that measures the opinion of the selected subjects.
