The training of engineers at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (FIME), UANL, requires more than technical skills: it requires the development of critical thinking to face today's social, ethical, and technological challenges. This study explores the integration of art and cinema as pedagogical resources that encourage critical reflection in students. It was developed using a qualitative approach with components of art-based research, using film forums as the main technique, complemented by interviews and focus groups. The results showed that most participants recognized that film analysis promotes new ways of thinking, with more than 70% valuing the subsequent discussion as the moment of greatest learning. Likewise, it was evident that nearly 65% of students considered that these activities strengthen cross-cutting skills such as collaborative work and communication, while 60% pointed out that cinema helps to question social stereotypes. These findings confirm that film forums, in addition to being a cultural resource, are an effective means for the comprehensive training of engineers. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that incorporating cinema and critical reflection into FIME enhances both students' ethical and social awareness and their analytical skills, shaping professionals who are more conscious, reflective, and prepared for contemporary challenges.
