Strategies to achieve educational excellence in higher education in Mexico amid the growing use of artificial intelligence

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a tool based on a computer system that performs tasks typically carried out by the human mind, providing users, including teachers and students, with a large amount of information and notes in just a few minutes. This optimizes the integration of data for various academic purposes of students and teachers. However, if not used responsibly and ethically, it is unlikely to contribute to the development of academic excellence. Due to the above, it is necessary to transform the teaching-learning process, which, while essential, must adapt to the current technological reality of the environment, establishing best institutional practices aligned with the mission, vision, and graduate profile of the institution, prioritizing a humanistic, inclusive, and honest educational approach committed to society. Therefore, this paper proposes the most urgent strategies to achieve excellence in higher education.
