This work evidences the problems of internal logistics within an organization such as: inadequate distribution of materials, products stored in prohibited or logistically inaccessible areas, mix of materials with high-rotation and low-movement, congestion of aisles and material, hindering movements and transfers. The most relevant area of opportunity is contemplated with the implementation of a rack identification system, with which the operating personnel stores materials in order and justification. The time delay when searching for material on the racks within the warehouse results in a deficient system in the finished product area, affecting shipping time and delivery compliance indicators.
Therefore, it is necessary to implement methods and tools to reduce the problem of material handling in the finished product department. The application of the proposed model aims to optimize spaces through the efficient location of finished products according to their type, facilitating the preparation and precision of orders and compliance with delivery indicators, in addition to opening the door to the systematic application specialized in the operational management of a warehouse; where internal logistics generate competitive advantages aligned with the strategic plan of the company.
