The variable frequency drives have brought a series of advantages in the control of electric motors to solve and make easy some human activities in the industrial sector. However, the frequency converters are power electronics devices in which, due to their construction and operation, inject harmonics to the electric network, distorting the instantaneous voltage and current signals. The study of the quality of electrical energy in an industrial type installation is carried out using a weg brand frequency inverter to a low voltage ac electric motor using the "easy power" simulation tool and following the ieee standard 519 quality standard. – 2014, the affectation to the electrical network and the possible solutions are determined.
