Abstract

This work focuses on the design of a control and monitoring system for a pilot level wastewater treatment plant. Programming in ladder language was developed, and the S7-200 Siemens PLC was used. The design of the Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) were carried out with Siemens WinCC Flexible 2008 software, which will allow interaction with the user. The HMI used is a Siemens MP277 Panel, which interfaces with the PLC allowing real-time monitoring of the control stages. The basic control rules were implemented to ensure the protection of the process. The operation of the control and monitoring system was verified by simulation, afterwards, physical tests were performed to observe the behavior of the controller when performing a work cycle using a synthetic water.
