This proposal sets out the process of improving a process in which the main objective was to control the variation of physical inventory against the SAP system in the biscuit production lines, focusing on the glue that belongs to the branch of indirect materials, Due to this, it is not registered in the BOM (bill of materials that means; complete list of all the elements necessary to manufacture a product). This causes that a control of its real consumption is not kept in each packaging machine as well as a control of the requirement to supply in the company, generating extra costs. The application of the observation technique is proposed in order to carry out hypothesis tests using coding sheets that help to obtain the data required during the 3 shifts for different cookie presentations, it will be carried out with the help of the machine operator already who is the one who works directly with the material. During the development of the work, it will be evaluated over a period of 6 months, data collection will be analyzed, then a target will be determined to request only what is necessary for both the production lines and the company. Finally, conclusions can be found that help or complement the research carried out.
