In this work a project for the reduction of scrap will be implemented in a production line of a Company dedicated in the production of light vehicles frames. In order to carry out the project in question it is necessary to follow the scientific method, beginning to clarify the problem, see the general problem of the production line, the amount of scrap that is generated. We proceed with a breakdown of the problem, where we can use a Pareto diagram to know what problems to attack, we will define our objectives based on the data obtained previously to proceed with an analysis of the root cause using the quality tool “Ishikawa diagram " Subsequently, a “5 why” analysis will be carried out to be clear about the main problem that causes us so much scrap in the line. Once it is clear what the root cause is, proceed with the implementation of countermeasures as well as the assignment of responsible and commitment dates and monitor the results through the KPIs.
