Abstract

Currently, technological progress is undeniable and the need to incorporate it into learning processes, particularly the proliferation of mobile devices provides an opportunity to take advantage of existing resources and innovate in educational practice, however it is necessary to identify the current vision of the teacher about its use as a basis for development. The main objective of this work is, therefore, to diagnose the current situation of mobile learning in Higher Education from the perspective of the university teacher. The methodological approach used is descriptive and correlational research, using a mixed strategy, mostly quantitative. The sample of the study is intentional, composed by professors from different universities in Mexico. The instruments used were: semi-structured interview and online survey. As a result, it is observed that most teachers identify mobile learning but not all formally incorporate it in their learning activities, among the main causes is the little training and dissemination they have, on the other hand there is high willingness and interest on the part of teachers to be trained in the design, development and use of mobile learning. The research leads to the conclusion that it is necessary to provide university professors with training on mobile learning as a measure to encourage its use and exploitation.
